Quote from NY Times:
"The Borders Group, one of
the nation’s largest book retailers, announced a new strategic plan
Thursday to close nearly half of its Waldenbooks stores, sell off or
franchise most of its 73 overseas superstores, sever its relationship
with Amazon.com and start its own online retail site.
The
company also reported a dismal fourth quarter that ended with a loss of
$73.6 million, in contrast to a profit of $119.1 million in the period
the year before."
Ahem. I’d like to take a breath, and just say…
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
:( They’d better not get the Tottenham Court Road or Oxford Street branches in London

Greetings posterity!
The boiler’s doing something funny again - which means a distinct lack of water perporting to be anywhere near warm. Or tepid. Or cool. None of the above.
A swift rummage around the flat yields one bucket, one kettle, a wok, and an endless supply of cold water. You don’t need to know the rest, but suffice to say - I want the hot running water to be working again, and I really, really like having more than one shower a day.
Did I mention that this is the greenest I’ve been in a long time? The one (2 gallon?) bucket accounted for complete, all-over cleanliness. That includes the hair… Surely this is some world record that I can be immortalised for? Trivial perhaps, but nonetheless a significant achievement in my markedly uneventful few weeks since my last post.
That is - if you ignore the gazillion Tamagotchi and Ben 10 toys that I had imported. As well as all those Nintendo DS thingies…
I was mulling over the fact the other day, that China provides the majority of everything I currently retail in my online empire. It flies over from China to the States, gets flown over from the States to London, gets brought up 3 flights of stairs … only to be sent all the way back down the aforementioned stairs, and into a van (driven by some man).
What a waste of fuel! Someone should invent teleportation in a hurry. That’d drop the global fuel consumption in a hurry.
It’s summer again! Yay! I can go and sit in Trafalgar square and watch girls. Or something equally as relaxing, but which won’t get me arrested.
Cowabunga!

Just for posterity … for when I read this in the years to come.
DAMN YOU AMAZON! You’re spoiling xmas for me! Get those Penguins to me right this instant! They should just escape from customs now and jump into packets for me to send them out to people…
Grrrrr. Argh.
And on another note. I’m not a Star Wars fanboy, but this link of a Friday party at Lucasfilms is just Too Cool.
I’m trying really hard not to make Chewbacca sounds in my head. Real hard.

Wow. Sometimes I really hate the way friendster works… remind me to never press any of the tabs while editing my post - because, unlike Google (which is clever), Friendster is stoopid.
Having lost my brilliantly funny post, I declare this one a Tribute to the best Post in the World.
The best post in the world being the last one wot I writ. This is the truncated, and much less funny version. You’ll just have to imagine …
I read xkcd.com because I like the comic … and now, he’s done a ‘funniest pic in the world’ algorithm (maybe he’s just bubblesorting, but whatever).
Samples below… and then a link ;) Lucky you!
I wish I’d been this smart at school … Damn their brainwashing!
In aaaaaany case, the image choices are tainted with my bias. For lots more:

Wow… Watched on bbc news:
Freaky. Scientists want to be able to shove human DNA into a cow egg so they can create embryos which are part human, part cow. This blend is known as a Chimera (defined as part human, part other). The embryo at the end will be 99.9% human, 0.1% cow.
My personal background is scientific, but that really WAS not presented well!! Hahahaa.
What if the scientists wanted to let the chimera embryos grow? :o Think of the bullying potential if they ever live to primary school age! <insert obligatory arbitrary joke here> What about racism? Religion?
*light bulb*
Immunity from Hindus! (or would they stone you for deity dilution?)
White supremacy! (except for that 0.1%)
Udders! (no, I don’t get it either)
You get to be a chimera outside of Dungeons and Dragons circles
Letterman will pay you lots to go on their show
Sooooo … I’m not against this - stem cell research is important, but damn, they aren’t doing themselves any favours with the way it’s being described.
Why don’t they use cats instead? I bet there are thousands of pet lovers that’d want to nurture a cat/human cross :p

As we’ve discussed previously, (keep up - there’ll be tests soon) I was going to make a teenage blog. I feel it’s fitting to subtly disguise my urge to tell people that I’m currently infatuated with a girlie anime by blaming it on the fact that I’m pretending to be an angsty teenage girl with C-cups (again, keep up).
It COULD be that there’s a distinct drought in the number of decent animes around, which means I’m watching girl-anime… but there’s something about "Nana" that keeps me watching. Characterisation? Hmm, relatively simple … songs? Catchy, but repetitive. Weird relationships? Self reflection? Perhaps all of the above.
I should also mention here (out of character) that I watch action-filled, testosterone-fuelled, ultra-manly films with guns and bombs. Just to prove that it’s not oestrogen that flows through my veins you understand. And while we’re on the subject … Neil Patrick Harris was outed! Omg! Coolest ultra-cool, chauvanist character on tv series was gh3y! Damnit!
Aaaaaaaanyways. Girlie rant over. Now go force yourself to watch Nana already. Esp if you’re some kinda girl. Or if you’re in some kinda relationship with a woman.
Everyone has a mum, so get to it.
PS. Devil Wears Prada. Omg. Those outfits!
